I have moved

I had long been intending to move my blog out of blogger and host it on a separate host. This week I finally did that. I have finally moved out of my Blogger account and created a self hosted WordPress blog. All my old blog posts that you were used to seeing on my other blog are here. So you would feel absolutely at home. In case you have subscribed to my blog using my feeds or by email, don't worry that you would have to subscribe over and again. If you are seeing this post on your reader or in your mail, you already have been pointed to my new blog. Just update your bookmarks to point to my new site. I would continue to post my updates and ramblings as often as I can. Sometimes in bulk, like in the past few days, or sometimes in moderation, like it was a few months back; but I promise to keep you entertained for sure.

I happened to find this abandoned cycle on my neighbor's terrace the other day. It brought back memories that I cherished. I still remember those days when DD National channel played the serial "Street Hawk" on Sundays. Ecstasy! I used to consider myself as "The Street Hawk!" In fact, I even used to ape the serial by riding my then cycle, a white colored "BSA Champ", in the most reckless style!

This recklessness never fetched me any thing is a different thing. The thrill, the speed, the air running fast through the hair! What else could a 10 year old ask for? This 10 year old in me is still alive, probably that's the reason why I call my bike the night rider and drive as fast as possible!

However, these days I am seeing a negative trend setting in. there is hardly a kid in my area who rides a bicycle! All that I see around me are kids as young as 13-14 burning the road with the 2-wheelers that their parents use. I share the wall of my building compound with another family. The children there, who are almost half my age, if not more, are double in waist size than me!

Ridiculous! Are we as the present generation, or parents, or friends, or siblings failing somewhere? I guess it is high time we opened our eyes and took a reality check.

I guess it’s high time we all hit the roads and exercised. After all, isn’t it true that a country is at its best when its inhabitants are at their healthiest best?

Early Morning Chores!!!

Oh what a sight it was to watch these kiddos help out their Dad with all gusto in washing the bike! Somewhat like the days when Dad used to ask us to do it for him! My bro and I, all padded up and all charged up, armed with bucket in one hand, mug and soap in the other... we always forgot that we would need the cloth to wipe the vehicle post the wash!

As usual, both of us would end up fighting with him walking off in a huff! Ha ha!!! What fights they were after all for you may wonder... well... they would be for trivial matters with me usually bossing and pushing my brother around. Like most of the older brothers, I was a bully too!!! And like most younger brothers, my brother was some one who hated to work!!!

Well, let me get back to these two kids!!! They live right across the street where my house is located. This morning just as I walked out in the balcony to put my towel out to dry, I noticed these two shouting at the top of their voice!! Just round the corner was their dad!!! He was getting them water to wash his bike! The boys scrubbed scrubbed and scrubbed until the bike was sparkling clean! Well, if that was not enough, they were almost ready for a bath too!!! Had it not been a city side scene, I bet the kids would have had a bath right there! Ha ha!!! I just can't imagine the sight that it would have made!!!

Well, until I can find something like that to blog about, its ciao from me!!!

Just passing thoughts

Well, how many times have we had such fleeting thoughts that the moment we got it we lost it!!! Something just like this train... it passes by just so fast... just the same way that you would expect from an unknown person...

But I would not agree with that!!! How many sweet memories do we hold of this train, how many soulful journeys have we gone in the train??? Wind blowing into our face when we stood out at the door, or as kids forced our faces out of the window to look at the curving train!!! It does not just end there... so many strangers who we made friends with by the time we reached our destination. Or as a matter of fact all the wares that would be sold by all kinds of people... some whom as kids we despised at the first look while some how ever they looked, we drooled for the stuff that they sold!!!

Ok lets move a little more ahead... train journeys always remind me of the yummy food that mom packed up for us!!! the first thing that as kids we did the minute the station was out of sight was to ask mom if there was something to eat! I really pity mom! Well, the hogging done, the next best thing that at least my brother and I did as kids was to decide what to play!!! The ball always fell in my mom's court... she was never involved in the first place but then my bro and I could never come to an amicable decision! We always needed a third party to settle that!!! Psst... that happens even now sometimes!!!

I am now getting nostalgic!!! I want to get out and venture into another journey!!! I have a few things planned up... but I am not too sure when that would materialize!!! Well, so long until then!!!

My tryst with photography

I once thought I could try my hand at painting. I ended up painting the worst picture of my life. I next thought I could steal a painting that someone had made and satisfy myself… but I never felt that strong an urge to actually do it. Then I bought a phone with a decent camera. I was not so satisfied. I wanted something more. I upgraded to one of the best camera phones of a flagship brand; but something was amiss. That’s when I read about digitally mastering photographs. The process was really simple. But it involved one real complication. The complication was that I needed to master the final photograph using not one but more than one photographs of the same object.

Nobody agreed to be my muse so I had to resort to Mother Nature. She readily accepted my invitation and became my muse. I started this off today and captured 2 really interesting pics, well they interested me, not sure if they would interest you! So I started off and played around with them till I got this!

This is where I start off people. I would now try to capture the best shot, play around with it till it looks at the best and showcase it to you. I don’t promise that I would be regular at it, but it has started.

Long time no see...

... well I don't deny that I have not been blogging for some time now. There has been no reason either. Just that I did not feel like. I was plain bored and tired. No muse for whom I can write my poems. No, I did not like the idea of nature poetry. I am just not made for it.

I tried acting funny and write funny poems, but I ended up splat on my face!! Man!!! That was a comic scene by itself.

Life has been taking curious turns and that has been keeping me on the toes. I am now absolutely unaware of which way my life would take me. Just going with the flow. But yes, I have been trying to swim upstream too… just that I know it is difficult and is going to take its time.

Sometimes I wonder if all that I would do in my life is just coding. But then I reassure myself. There is something planned. And that divine plan, nobody can change. Not even the astrologers. The so called divine interpreters who claim they know the planets and the stars.

...has caused enough trouble already!! Tempers have already been running high in every possible way!! I was left with absolutely no time to blog!!!! I hope with the turn in events in my life i may be able to spend some time for this!!! Poems now seem to be a difficult stand, but then I still have no muse for whom I may write!!
May be i will go ahead and consider nature poetry as a final resort!!! Just keeping my fingers crossed!! That's it!!

There is only one thing that crosses my mind after all that happened today. Yes I did it!! I finally decided to take the plunge and tell her that I truly love her!! But what worries me the most is that it left both of is numb and stunned!!! She did not expect "ME" to pop the million dollar question obviously and I did not expect her to call me "Crazy"!!!! A plain simple "Nirav, can we talk over this later??" would have done wonders!! Now I am left wondering about what I have in store for me on Monday!! Whatever happens, I will not give up!! I am good looking, I am tall and I am an intelligent romantic!!! She is beautiful!! Telling anything more about her would be as good as insulting she and I don't want to do that to my love!!
I have my parents in confidence and that is my biggest strength! Though I am aware that they may have had a thousand plans for me, I am also sure that they would accept with open arms the girl that I tell them I love. But here it is not just any girl! It is her, the most beautiful one!!! Even more beautiful than probably the moon itself!!
They say love drives you to the limits. I have experienced that myself!! While last Monday I was at the lowest of my self confidence, today I have all positive energy oozing out of me!! I am now only hoping that this would carry me across tonight and tomorrow!!!

Yummy food and me go hand in hand!!! Been enjoying and devouring food like crazy over the weekend. No idea how I was able to allow it to get into my belly!!! Maybe that's the reason I have been gaining inches over my waist over the past one year!!

Can't seem to be getting over it!!!! Here is a fundoo idea that I am going to use the next time I feel the urge to cram up food!!!! I am going to go dip my head in a bucket of water until the feeling goes away!!! Just joking!! I am gonna be excercising lotsa self restraint though!!

It has been long since we wore those blazers!
It has been long since we got into those yellow buses!
Those fun filled times playing antakshari with friends,
And getting reprimanded from all the ends.

It was funny standing in those morning assemblies,
Those lectures from the Principal and allied ceremonies!
The loud boom of the school head boy demanding attention,
And detesting the evening detention!!!

Comic books under the desks,
When exams were bugging us like pests!!
The fight for marks with the teacher,
Who ceremoniously gave sermons like the preacher!!

How I miss that beautiful phase of life,
When now I am walking on the edge of a knife!!
But it is not that I don’t enjoy this,
After all doesn’t everything have its own bliss?

People may consider that i am going crazy!! But i am seriously worried about the way the city is expanding!!! Can you imagine the kind of traffic jam that we were stuck in yesterday?? Goodness gracious it was one hell of a nightmare!!! With the traffic gone haywire, all that i could think at that point of time was cattle!! That is how the vehicles were being treated!! Holy Cow, i don't want to be stuck in another traffic jam!! If i ever do, i wonder what would remain of me.I would so very love to be with my friends and family. Laugh away till i roll on the floor. I wonder if that is ever going to come true!!!

Life has been a pain...

... all of last week. There was hectic work schedules. To top that weekend rush and i was stuck in a traffic. Call it the justice of nature or the wrath of my well wishers!! If you can't get home early, you might as well stay later than you want!!!
Feel like writing a poem about it sometimes!!! But how can any one think of a poem when you are so very preoccupied!!! I sometimes wish i could fly!!! As i type this i am listening to Don't Turn Around-Ace of Base!!!
Wonder what would happen if i did turn around now!!!
